Today could of been a lot worst...
Now let me tell you what happened. ----->
I did my thing in the morning. While I was riding to Crater Laks from my camp I broke down. FACK!
Haha. Well shux. My chain came off. Now what?
I thought I could fix it right on the highway, but I didn't have the right master link. luckly I had phone service because 2 miles more west on 138 I had nothing. How do I know? Tow truck drove down that far to turn around. Anyways, I called ma' and I was able to get a few possibilities on where I was going to have the tow truck take me. Once I knew where I was going, my insurance was able to dispatch a tow truck. Thank goodness for insurance... It would of cost me $400.00 if no insurance/roadside assistance. I didn't pay a dime except for the tip I gave. Let me tell you wht I tipped.
Instead of going to Bend, OR and going to a repair shop, (farther away and more $$$) the tow truck driver stopped at a automotive store, and I was able to find a chain for about half of what the repair shop wanted. I just hope it holds up till I get home. Then we looked around for someone to put it on near the town we were in (not bend, more south), and found no one. I told him I could do it if we could shorten the chain somehow. He took me to his shop and shorten it. Then I put it on in his parking lot. Drove off and did wheelies like nothing happened. I'm kidding...
After stopping for dinner, riding back to camp from tow truck shop, talked to neighbors for a bit, and take a solar shower it was that time to hit the hay.
It was great to meet you today Jimmy! Leaving Lewiston it was like riding in a bowl of soup, phew! We made it home safely. You make sure and do the same :) All the best, Mike & Donna
